Bad haircut, need help!!?

I recently had my hair cut and I really don't like it. I wanted bangs (which turned out great, straight cut slightly whispy) but the rest of my hair doesn't match/fit the bang style. Its basically a straight cut above my shoulders and I am not a bob wearing person. I have an oval face shape which I have found I am able to wear many styles.

I'm looking for a look that is funky, colorful, but yet professional. I can't have crazy hair for work but I want to bring out the "punk" in me. I'm having problems finding shorter hairstyles with straight bangs.

Go for a shag. You can dress it up or rock it out. I have it and LOVE it. And it goes well with most kinds of bangs including yours. A big new trend in color is black and white or this cool silvery blue color. Not too out there for work.

I agree with Lucy, adding bangs would totally change it and make it look good. If you can't have something crazy for work the I think all the suggestions for blue etc are out. LOL

god what was ur hairdresser thinkin??!! as a hairdresser my advice would be 2 add some choppy funky layers. that was u can wear it sleak and sutiable for work but funk it up out of work. id maybe grow ur hair a couple of inches too. hope that helps

reason: self conscious, strict parents, and critics ?ing me 24/7 especially when i were a skirt or something other than jeans... when the criticizers picked then out for me.thing to worry about: I'm blonde... always was, extreme light and strawberry blonde, its aprox. 15-19 inches. and i really don't like the idea that all the blondes i know dye or bleach their hair constantly blonde as if its going turn to stone if they don't!!!! even my mom makes me go to a salon every couple months to get it blonder.shes so annoying!!! IHATE IT!!! i hate being the only one in all my classes who havent had any other color of hair, and that Ive never done anything cool or fun with it!!!!

well if you dont like blonde try getting chunky streaks for a while experiment with color..if ur hair is light blonde you'll be able to change the color to temorary colors really easily...just sit down with your mom and explain to her about this...hopefully she';ll understand..and for the cut just get layers and maybe a shoulder length hair....that would be cute! good luck! and i hope she listens...

all of your pics were really dark but i think you might be able to pull off convincing your mom to let you get a light brown i think that would be really pretty on you but be sure to do it professionally and get a couple other colors in strands to liven it up and add more dimension

try an inverted bob. its a bob with the back cut shorter and higher and angled down towards the front. can have bangs or no bangs, your choice. from shoulder length to just the tip of bottom of ears. great style and you can go very short in the back, the nape section can be clippered short and high and have most of it hidden by the longer hair, only you will know its that short and high!!

hi, I heard you are a skater/ punk girl, so i have the perfect store for you, it is called hot topic it is usually in the malls so if you have a mall near you it prabably has one, alot of malls have them. it has all your stuff for your price range, the only thing it doesn't really sell is backpacks. It does sell skater shoes, i don't think they sell vans slip-ons.

Style tips for me?

I love the punk look that is almost elegant. you know...scarves, many different lengths of different types of necklaces, torn up jeans, but almost expensive tops/jackets. sorta like Bam Margera....or my friend Lainne. kind of aclectic....and hippy I have been in love with this look for like....ever and i don't really feel like i am getting to where i want with it.

1. just go out with your best friends and go shopping at Old Navy especially for clothes(ripped jeans, hoodies, screen tees) because they have good prices. Go to Hot Topic for accesssories(head bands, black eye liner, neckalaces...etc.) you could save a lot.

Im sick of people calling skinheads racists and such when really know one knows what they're on about.

Skinheads started in the late 60s in here in Britain when gangs of Mods began cropping their hair and mixed with the West-Indian immigrants of that era and began to indulge in reggae music, and they wore boots and braces as a large portion of these people were dock workers who wore big boots and braces whilst working and incorpareted that into the style.

It is true that both black and white skinheads partook in "Paki-bashing" at this time when tensions over work were high, but most did not do this.

The revival in the 70s/80s was when the real problems began. With bands like Sham 69 giving bith to Oi music, skinheads were back, to give the stale, middle class punk scene a bloody nose. The two-tone scene also helped Ska and Reggae regain its popularity among skins.

The fair right then moved in, recruiting SOME skins and stealing the style, which of course the media lapped up.

I think the British definition of "skinhead" and the American definition of "skinhead" are totally different.

In America, Skinhead is used to refer to a sect of neo-Nazis who express their views with unfettered racism, complex displays of their faith in the Nazi regime and their utter intolerance of other ethnic or "weak" groups. I have met and spoken with Skinheads here and know my experience with them is correct and the majority of the people in this group fill that definition. They can be intimidating and frightening people.

Rent and see the movie "American History X" starring Edward Norton. It will give you a pretty good idea of what Americans assume skinheads are about.

Though I read the Wikipedia article and see your definition is correct as well. It's a shame that something so harmless became so entangled with racism and bigotry.

i'm a punk and my parents hate how i dress.and now they tell me how to dress,how to do my hair.eveything!they want to turn me into a girly girl but i don't want to.i tried talking to them but they don't understand.they took away most of my clothes and jewlery.how can i show them my style won't change me?

Sometimes it just takes time for them to see you for who you are. You're expressing your own sense of style--nothing wrong with that. Maybe the stuff they took away from you offended them. Did they leave you with any bits of your punk identity? I would go shopping with just you and Mom if possible and try to find some things that are middle of the road. What if you were to wear dark clothes, but nothing with band's names or gross sayings on them? Can you two come to some sort of an agreement at all on clothes you could wear? Or makeup and jewlery? Maybe it's possible. She might not get exactly what she wants and you might not get exactly what you want, but hopefully you guys can come to some sort of compromise.

Try talking to your parents about things other than your clothing and music choices. Try talking to them about what life was like when you were little, what their life was like when they were dating, stuff like that. Maybe they can see that your personality is caring and loving, even though your clothing says F**k You.

I would say that they are concerned with what path you may go down. Unfortunately in this world there is still sterotyping and you get judged by your cover. If you are a good person and stick to the right side of the law then I can't see why they should have any issues. I guess they want you to stay there 'little girl' forever, and don't want you to have to endure others critisism to your appearance - they could also see it as a reflection on there parenting. You will just have to reassure them through your actions that your appearance is not going to change you - I would say give them a little time.
